In the build up to half-term many of you will be packing your bags ready to jump in the car and go on holiday. Wales is full of exciting places to explore and fun things to see and do. • If you’re into stunning landscapes and breath-taking views, it doesn’t get much better than Wales’ highest mountain. Take a trip to Snowdonia National Park to scale the peaks, whizz down the mountain bike trails or simply take in lakes, waterfalls and other magnificent scenery – just don’t let smoking slow you down!

• If you prefer to be beside the sea, head over to Pembrokeshire to experience the beauty of Broad Haven South Beach. The tide goes out to expose caves set into the cliffs, ideal for exploring!

• For hands-on fun of a scientific nature, adults and children alike will love Techniquest, Cardiff. The centre features over 30 exhibits ranging from giant, interactive pianos and magic mirrors to tricky puzzles that will leave you scratching your head – these brain teasers will certainly keep your mind off smoking!

• Your little monkeys will love learning about wildlife – give them the chance to see some up close with these top wild life days out. For animals of a more exotic nature, travel to the Welsh Mountain Zoo, Colwyn Bay to mingle with meerkats, liaise with leopards and chat to the chimpanzees.

• Not wet enough outside for you? The LC Water Park in Swansea boasts a range of exciting activities such as white knuckle rubber ring ride, ‘The Masterblaster’, ‘The Lazy River’ and new addition ‘Volcano Bay’! The water park is ideal for younger children while slightly older daredevils can take advantage of the Boardrider facility.
