It’s the Six Nations! Try to convert to a smoke-free life and kick the habit for good!

Ok, enough of the terrible scrums… I mean puns…

After Wales’ amazing victory against France we hope you’re enjoying the Six Nations as much as we are! We can’t wait for the England vs Wales match and now that Patch has gone smoke-free he’s been having a great time. He knows that second hand smoke is no laughing matter. Smoking around your children can cause problems such as chest infections or even asthma. Health issues like these may prevent them from enjoying sporting activities later in life.

To play rugby you need to be fit and healthy in both body and mind so smoking is out of the question. Smoking can reduce your level of fitness and can give you respiratory problems which can affect your ability to exercise or play sports. Not only that, but smoking can seriously affect your heart. The Welsh rugby squad certainly wouldn’t be able to charge around for a full 80 minutes if they were smokers!

Since Patch gave up smoking he’s been able to play rugby with teams all over Wales. He’s made loads of friends and has even been able to give some of the players a run for their money now he’s gone smoke-free! Here are some photos of him with the friends he’s made…

He practised his passing in Pontypridd…

Hung out with some fellow Dragons in Newport…

Got lifted up for line outs by Wales players Alex Cuthbert and Aaron Shingler…

And had great fun racing down the wing in Neath (and because he’s smoke-free, he didn’t even need to cheat by using his own!)

If you’re planning on driving with your children to watch the rugby, make sure to keep your car smoke-free. Don’t expose your children to the 4,000 dangerous chemicals in cigarette smoke and don’t put them at risk of life long health problems.
